We need to create a SingleCenterOfMass? (SuggestedEdit?: kind of a cool name for it) for the RCC2007 planning discussion. Either here or somewhere else.

Thoughts:
- The Goal: $0 in costs, everything supplied by volunteers
- Is insurance a must? Can we have a note that says, "Attendence is at your own risk?"
- Space, Insurance - we want a $0 fee space
- Outdoors - parks, forests, … Electricity and access to comfort (bathrooms, beds) are musts, though.
- Indoors - companies, churches, warehouses, … - must be able to hold ~120 people, (say,) and 6 breakout areas (say.)
- In 2006, we used about 9 breakout spaces, including 4 or 5 in the main room. We never had more than about ~115 people at any one time. We might want to plan for 150-200, or perhaps the 2006 size is best.
- What was the square footage of the PSU main hotelroom? It was a nice size, good talking point when asking for future space.
- Anyone know an org or place to call in Portland?
- Food provided by volunteers - kitchen space required
- An idea in keeping w/ wiki food: How about Stone Soup Theme? Each person brings something to add to the soup pot. Call it Wiki Soup. Not all the time, but maybe one meal, Saturday lunch? – KristinWebbTomson
- Could someone start a link from this page to the 2007 food page? I don't know how. Then all the food things and restaurant yahoomaps could be linked from there. Meal planning etc.--KristinWebbTomson
- So, why will there be two camps in North America next year? Does this mean that none/few of the Pacific Northwest folks we met in Portland will be coming out to Montreal? That sure does detract from the appeal. --EvanProdromou
- There's no organization here in the sense of a board of directors or anyone telling anyone else what to do or anyone trying to make decisions for the whole, or even a partial whole. Anyone may use what we've done here so far and make an invitation and issue it. If they're too close together geographically or on the calendar, I'll bet it'll be pretty apparant that the communities cannot support one or both of them and something else will have to happen. I'd be psyched for a European invite! --TedErnst
- Lion or other Portland-ites, are people actively organizing this, or are folks planning on going to RecentChangesCampMontreal2007?? --EugeneEricKim
- We're organizing the Portland one now for early Feb. I'm planning to attend both. --BrandonCsSanders
- The Montreal event is scheduled for May 18-20 so perhaps we should move the Portland one a little earlier (say end of January) so that there is a full 4 months between? That way we'll have four nice wiki events spread pretty evenly (WikiSym and WikiMania during the summer,RecentChangesCamp during the winter, and RoCoCo during the spring) --BrandonCsSanders
- I have mixed feelings about it, having a Portland RCC in the winter. On one hand I like the idea of it happening in Portland once a year. On the other, I am worried it will keep some folks from traveling to Montreal. I personally am completely excited about RoCoCo and will be there! MarkDilley
